The Diet

The Rampaya (ham-pa-yah) diet is a deep practice within the Huni Kuin tradition that enhances one’s mental strength, communication and expression while opening their voice for singing.

The diet consists of the use of chili peppers, sacred chants and prayers to clear the student’s mental state, strengthen their connection to the heart, and aligns their energy. Learn the traditional stories and songs of the Huni Kuin tribe.

You will begin the diet with a kambo cleanse to prepare the body and mind, opening your receptivity to a new beginning through the teachings of hapé, mother ayahuasca and rampaya.

The Guide

We are blessed to be able to welcome Yube Huni Kuin from the Amazon rainforest in Brazil. Yube Huni Kuin is an indigenous leader and shaman who radiates joy, gratitude, forgiveness, and harmony and his love for the forest and nature. Yube Huni Kuin is often referred to as the Buddha of the rainforest.

Yube was taught the use of medicinal plants by his grandfather, he started drinking Nixi Pãe when he was eight years old. Yube means “boa”, a sacred animal in Huni Kuin tradition considered as the carrier of all the medical plants knowledge.

He serves as the vice president of the Huni Kuin Federation (FEPHAC) which oversees 108 Huni Kuin villages. Yube is an agro-forestry specialist and that also served from 2002 to 2008 as the Secretary of AMAAIAC (Association Movement of Indigenous Agroforestry Agents of Acre) and was the advisor for Indigenous Affairs with the Government of the State of Acre from 2011 until 2019.

Yube is one of the main carriers of the traditional Huni Kuin sacred songs and ancestral stories his elders have passed on to him. He will be leading us in a traditional Nixipae Huni Kuin ceremony. This is a prayer circle to receive the sacred plant medicines of the forest (Huni, Sananga, and Hapeh), and to connect to the sacred chants and stories of the Huni Kuin. His ceremonies bring profound healing, the knowledge of his ancestors, of his tradition, and of the forest.
